CHESTER LAUNCHES CALENDAR PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
September 6, 2012
A weekend away at Captain’s Cove Resort in Paynesville, McMillans of Metung or Bridges on Argyle in Traralgon is up for grabs to budding Gippsland photographers of all ages.
Local MP and keen photographer Darren Chester has urged Gippslanders to snap a photo of their favourite local destination during the September school holidays to feature in his upcoming calendar of Gippsland.
Mr Chester is encouraging Gippslanders to use the upcoming September-October school break to holiday locally.
“Gippsland has a vast array of natural attractions from waterways and bush tracks to caves and ski fields,” Mr Chester said.
“There are also a range of events and activities on offer throughout our region.
“I’m urging Gippslanders to go out and explore our region which has so much to offer during the school holidays and then send me a photo of their favourite place.
“When you take a break in Gippsland, you’re not only experiencing our beautiful region you are helping to create jobs for local people.”
Mr Chester’s calendar of Gippsland will feature the 12 best entries and be distributed across the region.
There will be prizes for primary and secondary school students as well as an open category.
To enter, send your favourite holiday snap to darren.chester.mp@aph.gov.au
Entries must be submitted by October 30, 2012.
