January 13, 2012 Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester attended this week’s meeting as Orbost Men’s Shed members discussed plans to rebuild the facility. “It’s a terrible blow to the shed organisation but thankfully no one was injured in the fire and the shed was insured,” Mr Chester said. “I will work closely with Orbost Regional Health and the wider community to make sure that the shed is back on its feet as soon as possible. “There are a range of Local, State, and Federal small grants programs that we may need to apply to for new equipment and I’m sure that the wider men’s shed community will rally behind our local group.” “The Orbost Men’s Shed provides a very important community service and the sooner the men are back to work the better.” |
