NATIONALS SIGN UP EARLY FOR CORPORATE TRIATHLON

The Nationals have been among the first teams to sign up to compete in the 2012 Corporate Teams Triathlon.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has again enlisted Senator for Victoria Bridget McKenzie and State Member for Gippsland East Tim Bull to contest the event which will be held in Paynesville on February 19.
The trio enjoyed the event last year which is designed to encourage people of all ages and different levels of fitness to get active with a 300m swim, 7km bike ride and 2km run.

THE OLD MILL SITE AN ASSET FOR LOCAL COMMUNITY

The work of the Boolarra South Landcare Group in rehabilitating The Old Mill site in Boolarra has been praised in Federal Parliament by The Nationals Member for Gippsland Darren Chester.
The group has constructed walking tracks by hand, planted over 1500 trees using over 30 native species and developed an arboretum and rotunda area at the site.
The site has already become popular with a number of local walkers now using the tracks and amenities.

REPORT HIGHLIGHTS THE TRUE WORTH OF SURF LIFESAVING

Gippsland surf lifesaving clubs are part of a nation-wide service which saves Australia more than $3 billion per year, according to Federal MP Darren Chester.
The Member for Gippsland has welcomed the release of a Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) report which highlighted the importance of surf lifesaving to coastal communities and the wider public.
The report valued the drowning and injury prevention efforts of Australia’s 300 surf life saving clubs at $3.6 billion.
